One patient was mentioning to their neurologist how it only let him sleep 6 hours, so she put him on it 3x/night for 8 hours of sleep. I'm concerned this is necessary, even though it seems as if everyone who talks about it on the 'net only gets 6 hours, and they assume that this is okay because they're not tired...

> Yupp, 5 hours of sleep on Xyrem (GHB) equals around 8-10 of normal sleep. Because body produces more GH and puts you already in stages 3 and 4 of sleep (those that are responsible for "refreshing" the body). That's why Xyrem is prescribed (and GHB has been used for decades) for narcolepsy - people with this condition, FWIR, never get to deep, refreshing stage 4 sleep phase. And Xyrem(GHB) deals with that problem. It is also non toxic, non habit-forming (when used only for the sleep purpose) and actually beneficial for the body.
