Effexor with adderall and strattera?

Posted by Zoro on August 29, 2003, at 4:45:23

Is anyone taking a combination of effexor, adderall and straterra? My current diagnoses is ADD and BPII, although I question the BPII--could be depression and GAD.

I have tried most BP/ mood stabilizing meds without success. Tried most SSRI's no effect.

Adderall helps with lethargy and attention, but increases problems with anxiety. New to Strattera but it seams to help reduce racing thoughts and helps with insomnia (a little).

At home, I spend most of my time in the spare bedroom avoiding my wife and life in general. Simple tasks cause immense anxiety and even on my good days transitions are difficult. Occasional Hypomania is less of a problem than anxiety, depression, and concentration problems.

Previous non-reaction to SSRI's and tolerence to Benzo's have diminished my hopes of finding a med. that deals directly with anxiety and depressive aspects of my condition.

Recently, I have read several posts on Effexor and I am considering asking my pdoc to start a trial. Has anyone tried a combination of Adderall,Strattera and Effexor? Does anyone have good/bad thoughts about this combo? thanks in advance for your comments.--Zoro
