Hello Charlie,
I was on 75mg of Effexor for a year and then went down to 35mg when trying to wean myself off them, however this left me feeling bad all the time so I decided to just stop taking them. This was in June and I had a really rough time. I was anxious, irritable, aggressive, lightheaded, tearful and constantly felt sick. This went on for 4 to 6 weeks.
I perservered as I could not contemplate going back on them as I had a really bad time going onto them (I honestly thought I was going to die. It has paid off, and at the moment I feel good, but obviously I am aware that it is early days. I really feel for you and your girlfriend as I could not handle people at all when I was going through this and know that I hurt people along the way. I really hope she feels better soon as I am sure that things will improve. Hope this helps.
