I don't know much about Adrafinil. But I'm on Wellbutrin.

I've read that Adrafinial stimulates norepinephrine -- Wellbutrin does the same as well as act on dopamine. "Dopamine affects brain processes that control movement, emotional response, and ability to experience pleasure and pain."

Norepinephrine increases the heart rate as well as blood pressure -- the body's fight or flight response.

Long story short -- if you have anxiety problems, Wellbutrin could possibly make them worse. I have NEVER had anxiety problems, but found myself very angry, irritable, cranky, and worrying a lot more when I first started Wellbutrin. Those feelings have subsided almost totally now (on it 6 weeks).

It does seem to act as a stimulant -- on Paxil, I wanted to sleep all day and gained 20 pounds. On Wellbutrin, I have a lot of energy, feel more alert, have no appetite and am rapidly losing the weight I gained...

Hope that helps.
