From my experience SSRI's can make one much more
contious of their own heartbeat.

For me, celexa does not change my heart rhythm, blood pressure or pulse, but, like you I am much more attuned to it. I believe it is probably just in your senses. There is a part of the brain that can turn on, and off, the sense of ones own heartbeat.

I believe it is the activation at the 5-ht2a receptor, because whenever I take a drug that blocks the receptor ie trazodone, remeron, cyproheptadine, I can no longer hear my heart beat.
