"I read elsewhere you are no longer taking an SSRI. What happened with the Lexapro/Celexa (I forget which one you were taking)? Are you on anything else now?"

Caleb, what's up dude?
Hope you are well!
Yes, for almost the last month I have been off of the SSRI's. I wanted to try Celexa but my GP wanted me to try Lexapro instead....so, I took it for about 3 weeks or so...at first I got the initial Lexapro-anxiety that many get w/ Lex...that started to go away......BUT that damned SSRI-induced Anger reared its damned ugly head again.......it didn't seem to be as bad as with some of the other ssri's but GEEZ is it too much to ask to be able to find a pill that will lift your mood without having to turn someone into an ANGRY jerk? I just can't stand having that sudden, quick, stupid temper that makes me look like an angry idiot! Especially when my REAL personality is not like that at all! So, I've inreased my Remeron to 45 mg/night now to see if it could be my anti-dep........Remeron should be named "Lameron" because this is one "weak, lame" AD....it packs the "punch" of a DUD.....I always used it at a low dose for insomnia and apparently that's about all it's good for....and, to a lesser degree than the ssri's, it also may be causing me some anger problems.......I'm taking a LOT of supps right now from the Pfeiffer Treatment Center....I've been corresponding w/ Ame (from this Babble board) via e-mail to see if maybe some of these supps might be contributing to the problem....right now this pathetically weak Remeron doesn't seem to be worth a nickel as far as mood-lifting goes........as much as I would HATE to do, I may have to either 1) slowly add a low dose of Lexapro for mood lift or 2) try to get my doc to let me at least try some Celexa (one day I tried one of my mom's Celexa's and it just made me feel just a bit drowsy, that's all...my very first dose of Lex gave me the "JITTERS", and I think I recall reading quite a few posts it seems from people who have been on both Celexa and Lex who said that there was a difference as to how each made them feel...seems like Lex induces more anxiety...but I might be wrong about that.....but my very first Lex dose DID cause me big-time jitters, whereas my only Celexa dose did not (don't know if that would continue to be the case)...so what does this mean anyway---if all of the SSRI's cause anger in me, is it because they strongly affect serotonin? is that the problem? what is it that the ssri's all have in common that they all make me angry? And if the Remeron causes that problem also (but to a lesser degree) is it because that also effects serotonin, yet to a lesser degree? First thing I must do now is find out if any of my supps are a problem; if a supp (or multiple supps) is/are causing a problem, I'll stop that...it's hard to tell right now if the Remeron is the culprit or not (though it's a weak AD nonetheless). Take care!
