Did they factor in the weight gain from both antidepressants and the antipsychotics sometimes used to treat depression? That alone could count for a significant link between diabetes II and depression.

Also, a chronic disease like diabetes, with its tons and tons of lifestyle prohibitions, is bound to have a high amount of depression associated with it. Not to even mention the mood swings caused by sugar levels. And the one diabetes medication I've been on, Glucophage, brings on a malaise that is depressing in itself.

Did they account for all the natural links between the two illnesses?
