Ross,

I agree with your opinion about being patient for these drugs to work. One trend I've noticed on this site is that people expect miracles way too soon. All the SSRI's that I have taken in the past (which were effective for several months to a couple of years until poop out) took about 2 weeks for me to really start feeling the benefits. Sometimes I would feel something after a couple of days and sometimes I wouldn't - I beleive that was just a matter of placebo and the power of mind over matter.

As far as Nardil goes, at 60 mg it took almost 5 weeks for me to feel it, which was more than even my philosophy of med benefit "patience" expected. I was about to consider abandoning it when it kicked in - and so far so good!

In addition, I've also found people on this site to be impatient with side effects. I've always felt side effects on all these drugs, and they usually for the most part go away after a month or so. I'm still waiting for the occassional dizzy spells that Nardil gives me to go away.

Good luck and keep with it

Craig

> ive been on and off nardil now for the last 3 years and it has worked unreal wonders for me. but this time im at my 75mg dose for 16 days and things do not feel the same. that is because im fighting the med. im looking for complete remmision of my depression and SP like it happened before. only this time nardil is going to take more time to rewire my brain. 16 days is nothing on this drug. i could ramp it up to 90mgs but i know i dont need that. the 75 will work, it actually is, at a good 4 weeks....
> we fight these drugs like crazy. i know i have been there. if an SSRI did not work in a week i considered it a faluire and moved on to the next.
> one important fact though that i have learned. we all respond differently to meds. i respond very well to MAO"I and trycyclics. because i have very bad anxiety symptoms and i can feel an older drug helping me out there or making me tired. a good feeling sometimes.
