I've been considering my initial post above. This may be a flawed train of thought but- The Paxil may have been working, that is, helping just not enough when your depression increased, so you went off it entirely to go on something else. The Paxil starts leaving your system as the new drug starts working less well, leaving you with the impression that Effexor is making you worse, which, if it is not working better than the Paxil, is just about the same thing.

I found Effexor to be the most sexually impacting AD I have taken. Postpardum seems like a hormone thing, maybe Effexor just stirs that whole pot even more. Have you ever tried Lamictal? It has worked wonders for me. No sexual side effects, no weight gain. There is a frustrating lag period while you wait to build up to a high enough dose. But it has been the most effective with the least side efects (pretty much none) of anything I've ever tried. We are all so different in our responses to these meds, it's very difficult. Keep posting. If you don't give up trudging toward the solution, you'll find one.
