I was on paxil and I found it to be very effective at reducing stress so that I was more "on point" simply because I was more relaxed. It is similar to the fact that now, with no medication, I can actually communicate my thoughts and feelings more articulately after having one drink althought it obviously diminishes after I drink more. The reason I am concerned is because i have read that people taking serzone feel "tongue tied" and unable to express themselves. I am personally seeking out these anti-depressants to eliminate this very problem amongst others. Has anyone here taken serzone and actually become better able to express themselves due to a lowered level of anxiety?

Hi Mike,

I took Serzone 150 mgs x 2 for two years. I initially (first 2 or 3 weeks) had some memory problems (I even forgot about a night class I had on the 2nd day!), but they improved over time. I actually had better concentration and talked more on the med than I usually would on an antidepressant.

At higher doses, Effexor and Serzone both work on noripenephrine in addition to serotionin. When I had this effects, I felt that I could feel my mental power 'concentrating' in my frontal lobe -- zap! zap! -- giving me motivation and self-esteem as I told stories or debated in a bar.

If Effexor (which has a similar mechanism) does not work for you, then I would suggest trying Serzone. I suggest Effexor first because it does not have the liver-impairment problem that has been discovered in Serzone.
