Webmd says that it works by possibly blocking the release of dopamine. I am on Wellbutrin, and had been on it for a few years before I was diagnosed with IBS. I wonder if there is any connection? I wouldn't want to have to choose between severe depression or IBS, but it may be worth looking into a dosage change, or something. Could long-term use of Wellbutrin cause (or contribute) to IBS and/or it's symptoms?

Thank you very much for posting this info - I thought the latest med was Zelnorm, I'm happy to see that the medical community is still working on the IBS problem.
