I think you are wise to weigh the costs and benefits of psychotropic medications before jumping in with both feet. Sometimes the "cure" can be worse than the disease.
If you decide to take medication, please rule out bipolar II as a dx prior to taking antidepressants. If you are bipolar (like I am), a moodstabilizer is the first medication to bring on board.
