In reply to sedation-which med?, posted by e503 on April 29, 2003, at 19:06:53

Hi,
I know this reply is several days old, but I was on Abilify and Zoloft. The Abilify made me nausous, actually it made me puke. It didn't make me tired though - of course I was only on 10 mg. I don't know if that makes a difference. The Zoloft definately didn't knock me out, it pepped me up! Hope this helped, but you probably looked into it by now. Good luck! :) Michelle

> ben started abilify a little over a week ago. started on 15 mg. but he was a zombie, so we decreased to 7.5 and he was much better for a few days. today he comes home from school and falls asleep - never happened before. he is also taking 900 mg. trileptal, (300 mg. 3 x a day), and zoloft 75 mg. a.m. I have been thinking of taking him off trileptal, if the abilify works, as the trileptal never really did anything for him- until he started the abilify. So I am wondering , which med is causing this sedation? Could the abilify just be kicking in and it is now, in combination with the trileptal, causing sedation? Any thoughts?
