I also had a lot of problems with agitation on trileptal (and also risperdal). If he needs an AP, seroquel is fairly sedating and for a mood stabilizer depakote is also calming- has he tried either of those meds? i am so sorry for both of you and i hope you'll be able to find an effective combo soon. i really do think he should be weaned off of the trileptal asap. take care, judy
