BAD Ankle Sweeling-Anyone Relate???:-(

Posted by Krissy P on April 6, 2003, at 0:23:39

hi,
Yikes and OUCH-my ankles are swelling. The only med change I have had in the last month is going back on Lamictal, and Trileptal for 3 days. The Lamictal has never caused ankle swelling, and I've been off the Trileptal for a week. Sometimes when I wear sandals-this happens but NEVER this bad. I was once told by a gynocologist to take my index finger and press on my shin for like 30 seconds. Then, he said, you can tell if you are retaining water by how deep the indentation is after pressing down and holding it there for 30 seconds.
Well, I had a hole :-(
Has anyone experienced this from Lamictal and/or Trileptal and how did you get it better?
I have been drinking more water, adn my doc gave me dyazide-a diuretic-but why take something to cover this up? I'd rather find the cause.
Thanks for any feedback.
