If you stop cold turkey, its half-life is approximately 36 hours. So within three days she would feel the effects of discontinuation.

My own experience tells me that tapering is preferrable, as sudden discontinuance will also end quickly the calm that one can feel from Risperdal. It would be like taking her from room temperature and dropping her in ice cold water. The experience is NOT pleasant.
