I still have a lot to learn about navigating this site, or I would have answered this earlier.
Basically, I felt marvelous within days, taking 1,000 mg of Carlson's magnesium glycinate in divided doses with meals throughout the day. I've made many other dietary adjustments also. If you try it, I'd advise really familiarizing yourself with the info on Eby's site as so far, I have found it all to be useful and accurate. I was eating a lot of calcium rich foods before, for instance, and I think that for me right now (perhaps not in the future) calcium is as he describes it there, an excitotoxin. I found this out by having yogurt for breakfast two days in a row, thinking of the probiotic aspect of that food and forgetting all about the calcium. I felt noticeably "darker" after those two mornings. I quit eating yogurt and felt better again.
It feels to me now that magnesium was the absolute key first step to lift me out of that depression hell, but to sustain being in the new place, I have to be very careful about other "ingestibles" too. Good luck to you. :)
