Social Anxiety degenerative?

Posted by utopizen on February 1, 2003, at 18:27:55

Okay, my p-doc, who is now being talked to be another p-doc finally, well wanyway, he said once I was "a nice guy" so eventually I'll get over my social anxiety.

Apparently this is his rationale for not more agressively treating my social anxiety. Yet I started seeing him when I was 18, a year and 1/2 ago, and it appears to have only worsened since then.

Since schitzo is degenerative, and it encompasses social anxiety, who's to say social anxiety isn't either? Where does my doc get this idea it'll go away some day? Because last time I checked, I've never had more friends now than when I was in pre-school, which is to say I've never had friends. So I don't consider this a rational assumption, but maybe I'm off-base here?
