It works to keep your body from digesting dietary fats into absorbable forms.
So if you are gaining weight from eating too much fat, or if you are maintaining overweight by eating too much fat, it will work.
If you are already eating a low fat diet before taking Xenical, it will not do anything at all.
The more fat you eat the better it works, and also the more severe the side effects. Undigested fat will give you stomach cramps, diarrhea, and other unpleasantness.
