Anti-psychotic OCD experiences

Posted by Caleb462 on January 19, 2003, at 0:53:18

Okay... here's the deal. Atypical anti-psychotics are sometimes used in treating OCD and are sometimes helpful. However, anti-psychotics have also been shown to worsen or induce OCD in other individuals. Antypical anti-psychotics block 5-HT2 receptors. LSD *activates* 5-HT2 receptors, but has shown promise in treating or even *curing* OCD.

So my question is.. for those who have OCD and have been treated with APs... did they help? were obessions/compulsions reduced? or did they make things worse? has anyone experienced OCD symptoms as a result of AP therapy? Any other input is also appreciated, thanks.
