wellbutrin SR effects fading/not working

Posted by Paige on January 7, 2003, at 2:03:59

Maybe someone can help...first of all it is 3 am
which in an of itself is not fun (stress) and i wish Dr. Bb's would music would play most of the
time since it seems to cut out, makes for writing these sorts of things a little more bearable. I hope he reads this. To the point, so I can go back to sleep. I have been on and off WB SR for many years, not for great lengths. Could never take more than 150mg and doc and I decided to try and boost to 300--viola! No problems...very odd for me since I could never take that high of a dose with out bordering a breakdown. I also take (the music just stopped again) clonopin 2mg at night, which cuts back the insomnia, except this last night. I have not been on Wellbutrin for great lengths of time (like a year straight or so) and I do like the motivation and now lack of side effects from it and I dread SSRI (for me they did nothing). I have been weaning myself off WB because I feel it is doing nothing. It keeps me from smoking which is nice, but has anyone else felt it just vanishes from its initial effects this early on and do you know why? I could never take this high a dose and is also so outrageoulsy expensive, and it seems to have lost its kick. I have never had to raise the clonopin, which is unususal. I nver wanted either one of these and was just taking clonopin for past several years, but I agreed, or rather asked for help when my sister died this year. The WB has helped, but for depression? Does it cause some inability to focus for some people? I am in college and this is not good, but I still get by with good grades, just a wreck trying to concentrate. I don't know whether to get back on it (which I sense will happen) or forget all of these pills and really need a Wellbutrin SR person who might be able to help me,.....please, please, please.
Thank you,
Paige
