Benzos and carbamazepine for seizure

Posted by Squiggles on November 21, 2002, at 7:39:42

Utopizen,

Carbamazepine is the drug now used for seizures;
As far as i know the risk of seizure with benzos,
is not being on so much, as coming off abruptly;
so the books say. My experience is coming off after
a long time. I don't quite understand why i was not
taken off with Valium or another drug. I think that
doctors, most doctors, and not just mine, would not
believe the possibility of having a seizure after
taking 1.0mg of K for such a long time. BUT some
benzos are potent, and this one is an anti-convulsant--
wonder if it has a special molecular property which makes
it a stronger anti-convulsant than the others, as they
are all said to be anti-convulsant to some degree.
