started effexor xr today and I am horrified

I started effexor today as I am terribly depressed, enough to effect my once happy marriage. I am so terrified after reading these posts. There seems to be 25% good replys and 75% bad and that is scary to me. Could there possibly be more positive results than reflected on this board? I absolutely have to take something to help me and it seems that each and every SSRI has some horror story.
