Gershon - physical symptoms of BP

Posted by Squiggles on November 10, 2002, at 15:28:42

I would like to ask Dr. Gershon if in his
experience he and his colleagues have seen
any specific bipolar physical symptoms that
are more serious than the psychological ones.

For example, if a BP person is left unmedicated,
have any doctors witnessed such things as
seizures, or thyroid fluctuations or (as Kraeplin
writes) salt crystals on the skin... anything
like that.

It really does seem to be some sort of metabolic
disorder, and if that's true, maybe some physical
symptoms really nail the diagnosis.

Thank you for your time (not sure if you are
still here answering).
