Zoloft to MAOI

Posted by cubbybear on October 31, 2002, at 9:41:10

I would very much like to commmunicate with anyone who made the transition from Zoloft (Sertraline) to an MAOI. For 18 years I did fabulously with Parnate but now live in a foreign country where it is not available. I tried Remeron, which quit on me after 6 months, then went to Zoloft, which seems to be inconsistent and nowhere as good as Parnate. So I'm in the unique position of being able to try one of the new generation of MAOIs, technically called RIMAs, which are much safer than the ones sold in the U.S. But I still have to taper off the Zoloft (with doctor's recommended schedule) then wait those two dreaded weeks before going onto the MAOI, which is called Aurorix (Moclobemide).
This is probably an unusual switchover, so I'd really like to talk with anyone who has switched from Zoloft to an MAOI, regarding your experiences.
