Thanks. Why don't you slowly taper off the celexa while you go up on the lexapro? I guess you could be withdrawing from the isomer in celexa that is not present in lexapro, but it seems weird, and I haven't heard it before. Have you ever considered or used Buspar with Celexa for OCD. That's what I take. Strangely, I just read a thread that says that Buspar HINDERS Celexa's ability to control OCD. Do you know anything about that?

> The risperdal works really well for me along with cognitive work. It's very calming and helped to elimante the symptoms that the celexa didn't-- irritability, obsessive thoughts, anxiety. It's an atypical antipsychotic and while it is used for schizophrenia it'a aslo used in much smller doses for treatment resistant depression and to boost the efficacy of SSRI's. I love it, it's the least obsessive I've ever been. HOWEVER, (here's the big BUT), unfortunately, between the celexa and the risperdal I have gained a whopping 50 pounds this year. I'm hungry all the time. So the idea was to switch from celexa to lexapro (fewere side effects supposedly, including weight gain) and then switch from risperdal to seroquel, another atypical antipsychotic which is supposed to be weight neutral. I'm in the middle of going from celexa to lexapro which I was assured would be an easy switch and it's not! Problems with nausea, headaches, vomiting. Flu-like symptoms. Could be celexa withdrawal. I don'tr know but I'm getting fairly frustrated. babs
