HI,

Im on Geodon and Im sorry you had that experience. I never had that before. But I used to be on Seroquel, and it wasnt' so bad, but I thought it made me very sedated. I was also on Depakote, and I am not sure which caused the sedation. I also was still gaining weight, but it could also have been the Depakote.

I was on a large dose of Seroquel and a large dose of Depakote. I would advise starting with the low dose you are on and just monitoring it.
Geodon doesnt feel anything like Seroquel to me. Do you know why your doc prescribed it?
I am schizoaffective thats why I take the antipsychotics even though I dont really present with typical psychosis. I mainly have paranoia and some possible delusions, but no hallucinations/disorganized speech.

ANyway, good luck and keep posting and let us know what happens with it. I wouldn't be
too scared about it especially starting at such a low dose.

Take care,
Sienna

My tongue swelled or did something very strange and I couldn't talk at all. I had to call my husband home from work, had my children (after they realized I wasn't playing a game) and sister frantic of course I was in tears. ER visits are not fun...I won't go into detail but after 2.5 hours and being agoraphobic w/severe panic we walked out! So, today my pdoc gave me the option of going back on the geodon with some "side effect" medication which I graciously turned down or trying something else. So, he prescribed me Seroquel. I'm really nervous about taking it. He's starting me taking (25 mg tablets) 1 tablet 2 times a day for 3 days, then continue with 2 tablets 2 times a day thereafter.
