>I also got some information about valerian from my pharmacist, quoting from an article on the "Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database: Monograph" - There is preliminary evidence that valerian can inhibit the cytochrome P450 (CYP450) 3A4 enzyme (6450). Theoretically, valerian might increase the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP450 3Aa4. However, so far this interaction has not been reported in humans. I was interested in taking valerian to counteract the myoclonus I get from taking 30 mg. remeron. Our herbal pharmacist advises no-one really knows of the safety - however it would be more safe if I took them 2 hours apart. Hope this may also help you!!
