After a long search of AD's I found Effexor, which works pretty well for my GAD. I'm fine at 112.5mg, and have tried going up to 150mg, but the sexual side effects were too much. I also take .25mg of Xananx once or twice a day, mainly at night. I've been at this for about 3 or 4 months.
Recently, I've been put on Pamelor at 25mg to help prevent my migraine headaches (around long before the GAD). I have noticed I'm foggy all day, have the sexual dysfunctions again, and seem a bit moody. It's only been a week, but I believe these all stem from the Pamelor.
I haven't seen as much info on the noratryptaline as I have other meds. I take my dose at night-time, but still feel crappy all day, and am already frustrated with the sexual side effects. I know that a high dose of Effexor gives me similar feelings, and am assuming that the maintenance dose of that, and the new addition of the Pamelor, has thrown my body out of whack.
My experience has been that the side effects may get better, but my initial reaction is usually my permananet one.
Anyone else on a combo like this? Or had similar reactions to Pamelor?
