People get "well" temporarily or improve their condition to the point that you would call them "better", but not "well". I'm speaking of us treatment resistent folks who have a mixture of depression (usually atypical) and anxiety (maybe GAD or SP) and possibly ADD. Also, not everyone would call these people bipolar, but you wouldn't *not* call them bipolar either. I'm sure you know the profile I'm talking about. Anyway, is there anyone around that actually did it? Or do you know of anyone who used to post here who beat this horrid beast? My sense is that I need to get to the point where things are consistantly "better" and then get more involved in therapy and in life in order to get truly "well". This post is aimed at anyone out there who got "well". First of all, you're my hero :) Secondly, how did you do it? If there is anything anyone (newbie or old-timer) can offer please share. I'm making important decisions about future treatments and this type of info could be very helpful.

Hi to everyone,
I am a first time poster but have lurked around for a couple of years. I have suffered from depression, anxiety, and add since the mid-70's
tons of drug trials, and failures. I have a history of drug abuse and most pdocs were unwilling to treat the add and gad with stimulants and benzos. Needless to say, I was tortured with quite a few combos and on a couple occassions had very serious contemplations of suicide. To make a long story short, I found a pdoc
(thank god) who was willing to help.I have been well for 2 months now and currently on effexor-150, adderall xr 3 x 10 mg, and ativan 2 x .5. Thankyou to all of you. Though you did not know it there were many times this board gave me hope and the courage to continue. Thanks-Steve
