Bipolar Disorder and Epilepsy

Posted by Squiggles on August 31, 2002, at 8:20:33

Hi everyone,

I am searching the net for a relation between
bipolar disorder and epilepsy; to my surprise
i have found some article that indicate both
a genetic and an observed relationship.

I am wondering if this is general medical
and knowledge, how long it has been known,
and also, if this is the reason anticonvulsants
such as KLONOPIN are given in conjunction with
other drugs in bipolar disorder.

If you know of any articles or drs. working on
this, i would be grateful if you passed on
the info.

Thanks

Squiggles
