Help - Doctor is on Holiday (severe case)

Posted by Linkadge on August 17, 2002, at 16:21:04

My mother is experienceing severe insommnia.
She is 52 and is a bipolar and is currently
taking the following:

Lithium 750 mg
Depakote 635 mg
Thioridazine 100 mg
2 Lectipam 3mg each
2 Temazepam (Restorol 30 mg each)

She has been taking the Restorol for 18
years, (she has obviously developped a tolerance)
She again is not sleeping (3-4 hours a night)
She is shaking and has knots in her stomach,
her mood cycles throughout the day. Lately
she has been taking a third Temazepam which does
help but obviously in the long run. Raising the
Lithium does help the insommnia to a certain degree, but then she says she can't comprehend
what people are saying to her.

Any and all suggestions are needed.
Thank you
