Bedwetting

Posted by sarahcat on August 9, 2002, at 16:00:34

This is really embarassing to admit, but when I woke up yesterday I was in the middle of a soggy mess of sheets because I had wet the bed at some point during the night. Also, late last week I woke up as I was starting to wet the bed but then I caught it in enough time that I only wet my shorts. Still, this is a disturbing trend that I would rather not see continue.

Could my meds be causing this (Effexor, Lithium, Neurontin, Risperdal, Lamictal)? Day before yesterday I bumped up my Lamictal dosage from 75 to 100mg, but I can't fully endorse that as the reason for my problem because I had my near-miss experience last week before the increase.

Even if my meds aren't to blame, and it was caused simply by my being a very hard sleeper (which is true... I've been known to sleep through 45 minutes of my alarm going off without stirring), how can I keep this from happening?

I know that imipramine can be used in low doses to prevent bedwetting, but I doubt that I can get my hands on that since I used it (among other things) in a failed suicide attempt in March. Any other suggestions?

Sarah
