I've done the same things as you: turning up the alarm clock, moving it across the room, etc. I've even gotten my father to call me every morning so I could try to get up. None of it worked reliably, the sedation was eventually overpowering. This happened (to varying degrees) on every SSRI, including Effexor (it was especially bad with that one). I don't know how to fix it, and it is a very life disturbing phenomenon. If you find a solution, please post it!
