Yes, as Sid says, I very much think so also. In fact, I feel depression and anxiety are *very* physical, and it's like the pain seeps into the muscles and the bones. I would say tension is a big part of this (which is a part of dep/anxiety), and even something like lack of *good* quality sleep, which is something most of us with mental illness experience (as Sid says, even with certain antidepressants).

If a good physical by the doctor rules out anything else, the physical pain may mean you still need better treatment for your depression and/or anxiety. On top of my regular meds, I find I *must* have regular use of all sorts of pain meds. Hope that helps a bit....I wish I could offer more concrete answers.
