> It depends. For the most part, yes, benzos will get you some sleep. However, it's not so cut and dry, there are so many variables. Because benzos are addictive, they should be used responsibly. Abuse and self-medication is very common with benzos, especially among those who drink a lot or abuse other drugs (street or prescribed). Have you tried "all" the alternatives yet? Because you will have to go that route in many cases unless you have a good personal relationship with your doc (i.e. he/she TRUSTS you). There are alternative that may work for you, such as Trazadone, which is not addictive, and has only a few side effects (none too bad for MOST people).

I took 100 mg Trazadone tonight, hopping it might help. It's 2 am now, and I still can't sleep.

In the past, I took 30 - 60 mg mianserin for both sleep and depression; however the sedative effect of mianserin faded out after one month. After that, I tried remeron, but it was like candy after mianserin. Somehow, I feel like all these sedative drugs have lost their effects on me.

Anyway, I will discontinue moclobemide tomorrow, wait for a few days untill my sleep patern returns to normal.
