Re: Ketanserin » Malin, anyone in Sweden

Welcome, Malin :)

I'm afraid that this site's policy on posting info about specific pharmacies has changed since I posted the message you have just answered, more than a year ago. Although we Europeans are unaffected by US import regulations, we're still not allowed to exchange info about how to get non-FDA approved drugs; this apparently even includes exchanging email addresses for that purpose: I'm sorry.

It's fine to talk about their pharmacology, though, so I CAN say that I never found the dosage information I was seeking. I was interested in ketanserin because I wanted something with nefazodone's affinity for 5HT-2 receptors, but which didn't antagonise alpha-1 noradrenoceptors. I subsequently found out that ketanserin IS a strong alpha-1 antagonist after all :(

There are a couple of regular posters here from your country, who may be able to tell you how to obtain either ketanserin or a suitable equivalent through the Swedish health service.

I doubt if I'm even allowed to say that your name reminds me of a superb pub at Malin Head, Co Donegal, Ireland, which (legally) serves the best pint of Guinness I've tasted anywhere to anyone over 18, in case American kids aged 18-21 read this.

Besides, I'm trying to keep a low profile because one of my posts, which included the non-Cockney version of the forbidden word "bib", just slipped into the archives in the nick of time before Trouble was banned for using the same word!

[Parental controls off]

Seriously, this is a US-based site and it would be bad for all of us if Dr Bob fell foul of the law because of something posted here, and perhaps lost charitable tax exemption for donations which pay only part of the cost of running Psycho-Babble (Dr Bob pays the rest himself): "the good of the many outweighs the good of the few"

If you come back in the 23rd Century, Americans will have adopted the Prime Directive, which will forbid them from imposing their own laws and customs on us aliens ;)

Live long and prosper \\//

Jonathan.
