Trazadone is often prescribed to help fibromyalgia patients sleep because of it's sedating effect. I found that the sedated feeling during the day wore off after a while as long as I took it at night. If I am remembering correctly I took 100 mg before bed and was able to function during the day after the initial adjustment period. You can start off on much smaller amounts. Daytime sedation has tended to be a problem for me too, but I was able to tolerate Elavil after persisting for some time.
