I wouldn't avoid anything...perhaps alcohol (stretching the definition of "food")

More importantly, avoid illegal drugs like substituted amphetamines ( MDMA (Ecstasy) )
and methamphetamine.

You should look at it the other way...try something like chocolate, and see how it effects your mood..

Generally food that contains all the essential fatty acids is considered good for mental health

fruit and vegetables
fish (sardines, tuna, salmon),
nuts

Folic acid is also very important: spinich and dark leafy greens
