"Adderall does absolutely nothing. I took 30mg at one time today (and I'm going to stop it altogether for sure now) just to see what happened and if a higher dose was needed for me. It STILL didn't do anything but increase my heart rate to an uncomfortable level and kissed my appetite goodbye!!!! That dose would make most people euphoric! That should also be an indicator. "I have ADD, Jason, and actually (as I understand) there is an inverse effect with the stim medications on those with AD(H)D -- if you take too much, they knock you out. This happened to me at first. I started on a certain dosage and was sleeping and dopy 15 hours a day. When I decreased the dosage, it changed the whole world for me.
Also, something to remember is that the effect of the stimulant medications for ADD is not always an obvious, sudden one. You *shouldn't* feel euphoric, you should simply feel like yourself, only more focused. You certainly won't feel "high" on adderal if you have ADD. Stims like caffeine, coke, speed etc tend to have the reverse: a calming effect, since they help us focus the brain. More's the luck! ;-)
Take care and good luck getting it all figured out -- with your impatience, sleeplessness, hyperfocus, and extreme interest in the diversion of sexual activity, I'd say you might not do badly to really consider the ADD dx -- depression is a common adjunct to this disorder. If you hated ritalin or adderal, perhaps try concerta or another stim.
