?Starting Prozac while tapering Effexor

Does anyone know if it's okay to start Prozac while still on 75 of Effexor? I have an appointment the 11th and want to start taking something soon, because the out-of-body experiences and power surges I'm having now are beginning to get annoying. But I'm not sure how safe it is to do cafeteria style antidepressants.
