It sounds tricky. Ive often wondered if when an antidepressant has started working you can just switch. The brain will have adjusted serotonin levels so it could well work. One thing to bear in mind is that Zoloft is a subtrate of CYP3A4 and Prozac and its metabolite are both potent inhibitors of this isoenzyme. Possible serotonin syndrome if you were to start the two at the same time. 150mg zoloft is high. Do you think 30mg Prozac will be as effacious in AD effect?. Bottom line: If switching and dont want to go through the hassle of waiting for the prozac to kick in then I would try and reduce the Zoloft a bit and add Prozac a bit. I dont think theres much diffeence in Zoloft and prozac anyway. Prozac is more agitating even though Zoloft is more selective, cleaner and potent.
