Hi. I tried Depakote about six years ago. It was inappropriately prescribed for me, but I didn't know that at the time. I got bruises all over my body. When I carried a grocery bag of moderate weight by the handles, my fingers ended up with tiny little hemorrhages on the finger tips. My periods were horrendous and I looked as if I'd aged 10 years. I also slept all the time, but woke up feeling unrefreshed. I also lost a lot of hair. No, Depakote was not for me. Please mention your bleeding to your doctor. If the medicine is helping you in other ways, and if the bleeding isn't too bad, maybe you can put up with it, but for me, it wasn't helping my depression, so it wasn't worth the side effects.
