Hi TSA West.
> I wish you well.
Thanks. The more wishes the better...
> I think you're on the right track with MAOIs in general, considering that you had a response to Nardil in the past.
My doctor is determined to see what we can do with a regime built around Effexor. I am currently taking Lamictal 300mg, Effexor 300mg, and I am about to start imipramine. The initial target dosage of imipramine is 200mg. Generally, I seem to need 300mg to get from imipramine what it is willing to give up. However, it is likely that there will be a kinetic interaction between it and Effexor; Effexor reducing the clearance of imipramine and yielding higher blood-levels. We'll see. After this come adding Remeron and possibly Celexa. I don't have a good feeling about Remeron. Based upon my horrendous experience with idazoxan, another NE alpha-2 antagonist, I am not predicting good things. However, at this point I don't have the luxury of leaving any stones unturned.
> And further, your 'rejection-sensitivity' sounds a lot like Social Anxiety Disorder
Social anxiety has been a prominent feature of my depressed state. I wonder if there is a concordance between these two clinical descriptions. Are they different flavors of the same core symptom?
I think I will return to Nardil if we exhaust polypharmaceutical strategies that include Effexor. I must act under the supposition that Effexor + non-selective irreversible MAOI = death, or some facsimile thereof.
