Clonidine -might- be considered a first line medication for those ADHD patients with aggressive symptoms (such as those with Conduct Disorder). However, Guanfacine (Tenex) is considered superior, since it is less sedating and is longer lasting.

It is generally believed that Alpha-2 agents (like Clonidine and Guanfacine) are good for hyperactive and impulsivity symptoms, but not so much for inattentive symptoms. There are some indications that they -do-, however, positively affect inattentive symptoms but not nearly to the extent as other medications...

Frankly, I'd likely try it to see what happens, if other medications weren't working for my ADD/Inattentive symptoms.
