Hi Mitch, I am "considering this plan" as a proposal to my psydoc. He is very good at listening to what I come up with and then he makes suggestions. He is very open and approachable. Right now I am on Lamictal monotherapy and it seems to have stopped working. So I am looking for alternatives. Do you think the Neurontin is better than the Lamictal?. I was put on the Lamictal 'cause it is supposed to help with the mostly depressive side of my illness and the Lithium made me nauseous, shaky and dopey. Prozac worked for ahwile then stopped( i was on it as an activating ssri plus the PMS help) then we tried Effexor and I couldn't titrate high enough due to headaches. My biggest problem when depressed is the lack of motivation, no energy, just want to sleep, and see no one.
When I first started the lamictal I was go go go, full of energy and very social...felt on top of the world!
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Mags

Thanks!

> > They think I am BPII with mostly depression. Any AD's I tried gave me terrible S/E' or they worked for a while and then I crashed big time. I am currently on Lamictal monotherapy and i am slowly sliding into the abyss. I felt fantatstic when I first started Lamictal. At doseage as low as 12.5 mg I was feeling wonderful. I am now at 75mg and am supposed to titrate up to 100mg.
> > I was wondering what you folks think of this combo. I was on Prozac before and had to go off due to terrible pain and ulcers in stomach ( we figued out that I take ulcer meds when I first start a new drug and that seems to help) I have terrible PMS and that is why I am thinking of Prozac again. The Provigil is for the tiredness and fatique I am feeling again. I am back into a bad habit of not wanting to get up in the morning(worst time for me) and then at night when things are bearable I don't want to go to bed because I know it will be really bad again in the morning. No energy thru the day at all and I have become very irritable. When I was at my worst in the summer and was hospitalized for 5 weeks my nerves were so bad I had giant sores in my head. They are back! I have been taking Ativan for the irritabilty.
