Jeff --

Hi. I'm sorry to hear about your wife's problems. Moving can be very stressful -- I know it is for me.

Effexor is supposed to be one of the more effective ADs, although it seems to have more side effects in general than the other newer ADs usually do. It probably won't interact significantly with the Neurontin or the trazodone; the only problem I can foresee is that if the trazodone causes vivid dreams (as it does for some people), the Effexor might make them worse. On the other hand, she might find that the Effexor disrupts her sleep, in which case it could be helpful to increase the trazodone.

It is fine to fly on Effexor, although it's generally best not to start a new med right when you're travelling because any complications that might arise would be harder to manage while traveling. So it'd be better if she started the Effexor (if she does end up deciding to try that) either a bit before you go on the trip, or wait until you've returned.
