Does this mean adrafinil could be U.S.-bound?

Posted by Rick on December 5, 2001, at 1:30:49

Probably not, especially given the need for quarterly liver panels...but I notice that Cephalon, the U.S. distributor of modafinil (Provigil) has announced they're acquiring Lab Lafon of France, which created and markets (in France) both adrafinil and modafinil. The press release referred to adrafinil as a "CNS stimulant/antidepressant." Coincidentally, ABC-TV just did a report on Provigil yesterday, of course taking a sensationalistic "will you need to sleep any more?" angle. There was no mention of psychotropic properties other than CNS stimulation.
