Does heat destroy klonopin?

Posted by mist on November 30, 2001, at 12:03:19

Does washing klonopin down with hot coffee somehow reduce its potency (because of exposing it to a hot liquid)? (And on a related note, what if you just swallow it with no liquid or very little--will it not dissolve sufficiently?)

What about herbs? When I've taken herbs in the past (such as St. John's Wort) I've done so with warm water (I read that helped improve absorbency), but a few times the water was hotter than I intended and I worried it might destroy the important ingredients in the herb. How delicate are these substances?

Another concern...I've left vitimins and other supplements in a car on very hot days at times (all day). Does that destroy them or reduce their potency (or would it with something like klonopin, say, or another med)?

Thank you.
