ECT ever make depression worse? and questions

Posted by adamie on November 28, 2001, at 17:46:54

hi. i maybe considering having ECT again. lst time it was 6 treatments maybe bi-frontal. it seemed to maybe help a little if at all. I was also on zyprexa at the time.

Is it ever possible that ECT can make one's depression worse afrerwards? Becaise I was after put on celexa and my not life threatening depression was turning to pure hell. But I guess it was just the celexa and not some ECT after effect. Ever since after the ECT though I have been feeling much worse on and off my meds. maybe it's just a seasonal effect.

regardless i am willing to try ECT again. How many treatments is required to be effective? 8-16? bi lateral, uni lateral? is bi frontal bad? please reply.
